The Catholic Church is a rich male collective
Published in The Conversation, 2020
In this contribution, I critique the hierarchical structure of the Catholic Church, pointing to the concentration of property, power and privilege within a male-dominated institutional body. The article highlights how this reality undermines the Church’s ethical and moral mission, especially in relation to equity, gender justice, and social accountability. I call for reforms that would redistribute power, ensure transparency, and align the Church’s institutional reality with its professed values of service, equality and community.
